How does TriBorg work?

TriBorg is a GPIO pin triplicator. That is, for example Raspberry Pi pin x is available on three headers - the SAME pins, not separately via a software programmable port. It doesn't provide new additional Raspberry Pi pins.
If you for example connected three LedBorgs, and set a colour, all three LedBorgs would display the same colour. (And it's really bright! :P )

It's useful for example where all pins aren't used by all devices: eg.

LedBorg uses GPIO physical pins 11,13,15
XLoBorg uses GPIO physical pins 3,5
PicoBorg uses GPIO physical pins 7,12,(optional)22,24,26

So we can use all three at the same time on the Raspberry Pi via TriBorg.

do you still sell the TriBorg as it has been out of stock for a month as far as I know

We have a new version of TriBorg currently in development.
The new version will have a few improvements over the original TriBorg:

  1. It will work for the entire 40-pin GPIO header on the A+ / B+ / v2
  2. It uses the same space as the HATs do
  3. The board can be fitted either way around
  4. When fitted over the Raspberry Pi it will provide the four mounting holes, making it more stable

Because of this we are planning to discontinue making the original TriBorg, hence why it has been out of stock for a while.

We would have liked to release the new version sooner, but we have been working on two robot kits in the last couple of months.
One is Red Edition, a faster version of the DiddyBorg.
The second we will be releasing very soon and uses a brand new design.

that's good. I am using the B+ hence the name. I needed to find a way to supply 5 volts to the diddyborg but also to a ultrasonic sensor and a 3 way line follower. I take the new robot is the 4 borg.
